Introduction


As a part of Business Requirement, we often might have to work on a multiple number of projects simultaneously. Managing multiple projects can be tiresome if they are not organized well in a centralized location since the project essentially involves a number of team members(located in company premises or even remote locations).


Testsigma helps you in this regard by allowing you to add and manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimum effort.


A Sample Project hierarchy is available here to get familiar with the Project Creation process.

After going through the hierarchy that Testsigma follows, you can continue creating the project as given below in the Create Project section


Create Project


A new Project can be added by two different methods as mentioned below:


First Method

This method is useful for the first time users to get acquainted with the Project creation process in Testsigma. Once we become familiar with the process, it is recommended to follow the second method given below in this section.


1. Firstly, click on the '+ New' button on the top right corner of any page on Testsigma and a drop down menu appears as shown below:



2. After that, click on the item named '+ Project' to open the Create Project Dialog.


Second Method

This method is recommended for the experienced users. As you can see, when we log into our Testsigma account for the first time, a sample Project named Testsigma will be automatically created for us.


1. Firstly, click on the Project name on top left corner near the Testsigma logo. You will see a list of available projects along with the Create Project button at the bottom of the list.


2. After that, click on the Create Project button to open the Create Project overlay page.



Following the first or second method takes us to the Create Project page. The Create Project page looks as given below:



Enter the details as given below:


Name (Required): Enter a name for the project that needs to be created.

Note: If you have only one application to test, you may enter the same value for both project name as well as application name.


Description: Enter a meaningful description for this project elaborating about it.


Application Details:


Application Name (Required): Enter the name of the application that is to be tested. This is a required field since every project requires at least one application in it.

Note: Once the project is created, you will be taken to the Dashboard page. You can navigate to the Applications page by selecting the Applications tab on the left pane. You can add multiple applications there by using the Create Application button located below the current project name on the left pane.


Application Type (Required):Select the type of the application(Web or Mobile) or Web Service that is to be tested.


Version Details:


Version name (Required): Enter the version of the application that is to be tested. This is a mandatory field since every project should contain at least one application and each application should contain at least one version.




Example:

Below given is the Project details for a sample Project 'OrangeHRM'

As you can see, this project deals with the testing of version 1.0 of a Web Application for OrangeHRM.



Enter the details for your application and click on the Create button. You will see a notification for successful project creation and will be taken to Application Details page.


 

Edit Project


First of all, select the Project that you need to edit by going to the list of projects. To get to the list of projects, click on  icon on the top left corner near Testsigma logo and navigate to Project details page as follows:


Project Settings > Project details


Now we need to click on the Edit button on the top left corner to edit the existing Project.



Edit Project page would appear as given below:



Now we can edit the required fields and click on Update button. You will get a notification on successful updation and will be taken to the Project Details page as before. You can verify the changes there and make more modifications if necessary.



Delete Project



First of all, select the Project that you need to delete by going to the list of projects. To get to the list of projects, click on  icon on the top left corner near Testsigma logo and navigate to Project details page as follows:


Project Settings > Project details


Now, click on Delete on the top right corner to delete the existing Project.



Confirm Delete Dialog would pop up as given in below image. Select the checkbox and click on Delete button to confirm the deletion.


You will get a notification for successful deletion and you will be taken to the Dashboard page.
