Some of the concepts we use in this chapter are already introduced in a few chapters that are published already. So, if you have not gone through “Testsigma Sample Application”, “Create a Project” before, please go through them now and then come back to this article.


Also, we’d expect that you have already created a login id and project for yourself in Testsigma. That will help us explain the steps better and for you to understand them much better.


To give you an overview, in this chapter - we will cover the basics of test case creation via Testsigma. We will be explaining this through the same test case that was demonstrated in the chapter “Testsigma Sample Application”. 


Now let’s dive in and follow the below steps:


  1. Login to Testsigma with your login credentials here: https://app.testsigma.com/, the login page should look as below:





       2. On successful login, you will be taken to the dashboard page





  1. On the dashboard page, you will have to select a project from the drop-down or create a new project from there. This section is on the top left section of the page, also highlighted in below screenshot:



  1. After a project is selected, we will start creating a test case. For that go to “Test development” section in the menu on the left, as shown below:



  1. When you click on “Test Development”, ‘Test Cases’ page should open as below:



  1. To add a test case, click on the button with “+ Test Case” on top of the page,  as also highlighted below:



  1. Create your Test Case as shown below:



  1. Create all the test steps for the Wikipedia application and identify all the elements of the application using Appium / identifiers shown in the chapter “Create UI Identifiers/elements

The steps to be performed :

  • Launch the App

  • Tap on skip button

  • Tap on sync reading list

  • Tap on menu

  • Tap on hide card 

  • Tap on search


For the UI identifier field, use the captured id's or Xpath's or name's captured in the Previous Chapter using the Android Inspector.



If you click on edit UI Identifier, you will be able to see the captured details:




With this, you have completed Create a Test Case of the Sample Application. In the Next chapter “Run Test Cases” you will learn how to run the Test Cases on different Test Labs.
